Coombe Lodge Wedding in Somerset
August 2022, an absolute scorcher of a day at Coombe Lodge in Blagdon, Somerset, which was looking beautiful with the honey stone walls basking in the bright sunlight of the day and gardens manicured to perfection.
Pippa and Ger were travelling up from their home in Cornwall and family were arriving from Ireland and all over England. It proved to be a perfect location for them all, being so close to the M5 and Bristol Airport. The flowers for their day were important to them both and it was a pleasure to meet them at the venue prior to their Wedding Day to find out about them as a couple and discover their inspiration and ideas. Ger was equally involved in selecting the arrangement volumes and styles and as with most couples, getting the most out of their flowers on the day was important. Wherever possible they needed to be easily moveable so they could be repurposed throughout the venue.
They chose two large pedestal arrangements to frame their ceremony area and a large ceremony table arrangement, which was offset to the right of the area where they exchanged their vows and made their promises. Both arrangements were repurposed to the top table. Two large ground level aisle arrangements were placed at the front of the aisle to welcome Pippa as she progressed towards Ger through her seated guests. A nice touch from the couple was white fans on alternate seats to help keep them cool.
The many circular Guest Tables were decorated with a table name and visual and a crystal vase of flowers arranged in a hand tied bouquet style with trailing ribbons. Bouquets were gifted to guests at the end of the day. The three tiered semi naked Wedding Cake was also decorated with an abundance of fresh flowers and foliage.
Pippa chose a heavily foliaged and gently trailing bouquet for herself and smaller bouquets to compliment for her bridesmaids, who wore sage green dresses.
The colours were orange and apricot, pops of delicate ivory, heavy with greens which just looked bold and beautiful and complimented everything on the day so well. The couple were captured so creatively and professionally by photographer Simon Biffen, whose instagram feed is an absolute dream and worthy of a follow!
